A Sitcom to Avoid at all Costs

Posted on 26 March 2009 by admin

If the two-minute iTunes preview of ABC’s new sitcom In the Motherhood, which was interestingly made unavailable soon after it’s release, is any indication, ‘Motherhood’s going to be a disaster of a show. It’s too bad, because the premise was promising: “a new comedy [...] which takes a look at the importance of family and friends while trying to juggle motherhood, work and love lives in an overly complicated modern world.” Continue Reading

Can I Get Some Emotion, Please?

Posted on 22 March 2009 by admin

While I understand CSI: Miami’s (CBS) Horatio Caine (David Caruso) is supposed to be the stone-faced hero, shaken by nothing and intimidated by no one, I would love to see some more emotion. He’s like a robot. Terminator: Sarah Connor Chronicles’ (FOX) Cameron has more spirit and she actually is a robot. I’m not asking for him to start sobbing on Eric’s shoulder about his murdered wife or laugh-out-loud at a co-workers joke, but some hint that there’s a man behind those iconic sunglasses would be stellar.

horatioI want to see sadness, happiness, confusion, or heartbreak. The “tell” doesn’t have to be obvious - perhaps a subtle frown or sharp inhale. At the very least, let the poor man smile more than once every thirty episodes. “I swore I saw

him change facial expressions twice. At least that’s what I thought I saw, before I fainted,” comments CreativeThinker via TV.com.

CSI: Miami has a chance to delve into and develop a great character. I just hope they take the opportunity. What makes him tick? I want to know, and viewers do, too. Step up CBS and take a risk. It’ll be worth it, if only to stun the hundreds of users posting Horatio spoofs to YouTube.

Is ABC’s Lost Worth Watching Anymore?

Posted on 15 March 2009 by admin

I admit it, I’ve stopped watching ABC’s Lost. Season four left me so frustrated, I couldn’t take it anymore. Television’s supposed to be enjoyable, I told myself, and when I watch this show all I want to do is throw something pointy at J.J. Abrams for letting what could have been a great thing get ruined. Lead Swaps: Why CSI Will Succeed Where Others Failed

Posted on 15 January 2009 by admin

Tonight, Dr. Gilbert Grissom (William Peterson) bids adieu to arid Nevada. Until the ever inevitable guest spot, of course. For nearly nine seasons, Peterson’s character has been a staple of the CSI franchise – wooing audiences with his quirky personality and scientific prowess. People love him; and, they really hate losing him. When Entertainment Weekly broke the news via their Ausiello column, commenters were quite succinct: if Peterson goes, so do they. Continue Reading
